The areas along the AngloScottish Border have a lot in common and the organisations in the area have come together to jointly promote the region and improve the local economies.

The quality of the countryside and rich heritage offers a firm base to build on and new opportuntinities in telecommunications, education and transportation links are being developed.

The first Border Visions Conference took place in Carlisle in October 2000 and concluded with a Memorandum of Understanding. This gives a formal commitment to partnership working and builds on existing forums and links.
